1st Annual Save a Tooth Day

March 22, 2008. The alarming statistics of African-American children who have not been seen by a dentist prompted the Delta Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to host their 1st Annual Save A Tooth and Brighten A Child's Smile Day. This event, chaired by Fabiola Gaines, took place on March 22, 2008 at the J. B. Callahan Neighborhood Center from 9:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. for children who live in the Parramore area. The chapter partnered with the Orange Blossom Family Center, Parramore Kidz Zone, Hebni Nutrition Consultants, Inc., the Department of Children and Families, Access Connection, and Dr. Brian O. Coleman, D. M.D., P. A. (Omega Dental Group), who performed all of the screenings. The Orange Blossom Family Center will follow up and provide dental services based on the screening recommendations.
